Fun Stay in Lake Tahoe

Posted by casinoman | Lake Tahoe Guide

Below is a list of some facts about Lake Tahoe

Specifics

The Lake is located at an elevation of 6,229 feet and this makes it the highest lake in America of this size. The waters of the lake run deep and with a depth of 1,645 feet the lake is said to be the 10th deepest on in the world and the third deepest one in USA. The Crystal bay region of the lake is where the waters run the deepest. With a surface of 191 square miles the lake is able to boast of a 71 mile shoreline.

While most of the lake is in the California side, the Nevada state also has a few regions in its jurisdiction. There are 63 streams that feed this lake which has only one outlet called the Truckee River. Since the lake sees large amounts of water flow in and flow out of the lake, it does not freeze even during the winters when this region sees 300-600 inches of snow.

Thankfully today things are in control and the place has large areas of reserved forests. The construction of hotels in Lake Tahoe and homes near the area has also been banned and all these changes have helped in preserving the natural elements of the lake. One hopes that the lake will continue to enjoy its popular status and the tourists who come here will ensure that the place is not marred by them.
